FAQS

What liquid can JIRS FL‑8870 electromagnetic flowmeter measure?

Down Down

It is designed for **conductive liquid and slurry**, medium conductivity must be ≥5μS/cm. Typical media: sewage, wastewater, chemical acid‑alkali solution, ore slurry, coal slurry, tap‑water. It CAN NOT measure non‑conductive liquid such as oil, pure solvent.

What is the difference between integrated type and separated type converter?

Down Down

Integrated type: converter is assembled directly on sensor body, compact, easy installation for accessible location. Separated type: sensor and converter are installed separately, connected by STT3200 special cable, max distance up to 100 m. Suitable for high‑vibration, high‑temperature or hard‑to‑reach installation spot.

Do I need grounding flange or grounding electrode?

Down Down

If your pipeline is made of plastic or other non‑conductive material, grounding flange or grounding electrode is required to ensure stable measuring signal. For metal conductive pipeline, normally extra grounding accessory is not necessary.

What output signals does FL‑8870 support?

Down Down

It supports 4‑20 mA analog output, pulse / frequency output, dual‑channel alarm output; digital communication options include RS232, RS485, HART, Profibus‑DP for connecting PLC and DCS control system.

What is the maximum measuring pipe size?

Down Down

Nominal diameter ranges from DN3 up to DN3000. Various pressure grades 0.6 MPa /1.0 MPa /1.6 MPa /4.0 MPa /6.3 MPa for selection.
